It is worth pointing out for beginners like me that if your drilling stick has rough edges, the lanyard might get torn to pieces, like mine:)

finally got my pipe done at the third try. I did the hole with coals, and wrapped it with hemp cord instead of root. Works fine!! THank you for the idea
