Ingrid Bergman really owns the film! She deserved to get the Oscar. Brilliant performance!

Having seen many great music concerts at the Swedish American Institute here in the Minne-Apple, I can vouch for it’s existence. I say, Ingrid is innocent of this horrible crime!
February 1st, 2010 on 8:48 pm
I’ve read about that. Still doesn’t make her sound any less Swedish.
February 1st, 2010 on 9:07 pm
Bergman had not spoken Swedish for so long that she needed a Swedish voice coach for this film.

Ingrid Bergman. Lauren Bacall. Can you get better than that??
February 1st, 2010 on 10:29 pm
Ingrid bergman put in the best performance out of all the actors in this film IMO and deserved her third oscar for this.
February 1st, 2010 on 11:27 pm
ehh its not that racist, she could have called them something much worse
February 1st, 2010 on 11:47 pm
“Little brown babies”
Errrrrrrrrrrr that’s a bit daft, 1930 and saying “little brown babies” lol there was a LOT of racism back then…..
Found that kinda cute to be honest, “little brown babies” it’s the way she said it too, with such care lol

Listen to the Audiobook, it’ll put a few better voices on for you, I’m blind myself and I prefer a lot of Audiobooks compared to the films, although some few films do compliment the books… but you know the drill, most films ruin the book.
(However, Harry Potter films were brilliant to the books)

Uhm, no. Bergman sounded English with a thick Swedish accent. I should know, I am Swedish.
February 2nd, 2010 on 2:20 am
thanks for posting… despite what i am about to say.
i love agatha text but i think this film is a bastard version. the accents were amateur. the swedish sounded perfectly german. the hungarian sounded more like russian.
why poirot himself can use words like emolument and yet still be unable to pronounce the word pipe is as suspicious as it is reminiscent of peter seller’s pink panther.
i only wish i had read this one before watching it. wouldn’t be the same to read it now of course.
