You do know that Israel is not a happy place where Jews respect all other Jews, right? Try going there. The Reformed and Orthodox can’t stand each other. Ethiopian Jews are outcasts. And Christians are spit on in the streets… by Jews.

  • BloodofPatriots

I’m not extreme. I believe that all peaceful beliefs should be respected and protected under the law. Whether those beliefs are christianity, hinduism, shamanism, wiccan or atheism doesn’t matter.

Trying to rid public schools of any sign of religious belief, like the NJ teacher forbidding a 3rd grade student from reading her Bible during individual reading time, establishes a preference for government atheism and is a persecution of religious belief.

  • shenyain

No…Government running it would be the same exact thing. See, you’re way too extreme.

  • keicher09

    That’s not the question…

You said that Jews could not be identified as an ethnicity because they do not identify with one another. I responded by saying that the Jews had come together from all around the world to found Israel.

Besides, Maher and Dawkins are not running for presidency in the first place, so you won’t have a dictatorship anytime soon. Unless Obama turns Commie. But that’s unlikely. Regardless, thank you for not swearing at me for this much time. Usually in this controversial topic there are fanatics on both sides. A nice discussion/debate whatever you want to call it is a good thing with a fellow intelligent person.

FAITH is confidence or trust, RELIGION is faith in a higher power. Two different things. The greatest thinkers like Newton or Gallelio or Eienstien were faithful. But not in a higher power. Newton was persecuted by the church for creating gravity and so was Gallelio for the telescope. You are very conservative about Athetism and Religion. There is a middle. That is where Maher and Dawkins reside. They reside, like me, in a humble position

  • shenyain

Maybe you don’t know Dawkins or Maher. Maher hates Atheism because it is a from of religion. Atheism says “THERE IS NO GOD” Religion says “THERE IS A GOD” Maher, and I think Dawkins say something humble: “I DON’T KNOW, WE’LL SEE WHEN WE’RE DEAD” And….last time I checked Dawkins or Maher are not attempting a coup or run for any leadership of any country, so don’t worry about personal liberties and I once again stretch, Political kings are political. Not religious. You are making them the same.

  • shenyain

Yeah, that’s why it has to go. And once again, you’re bringing politics into religion. There is politics no doubt, but not an organized state politics like there were before. And in case you forgot, I may remind you once again they were all done for political purposes. Not because they were jewish or muslims. That’s what Communism is about.

  • BloodofPatriots

You really believe religion has done more harm than good? You’re ignorant of the facts.

How many universities, hospitals and charities are run by religions? You want government to run everything?

Nice to meet you, Premier Stalin.

  • BloodofPatriots

You should study more history. You’ll find that people of faith were among the greatest scientist in history. Gregor Mendel (father of genetics) is one example.

Atheists like Maher and Dawkins want to see religion persecuted. They want people to abandon faith and accept their ideology: Atheism.

For some reason they believe that atheism will lead to a land of rainbows and unicorns. I’ve read history. Atheist governments have a horrible track record regarding personal liberties.

  • shenyain

There’s a reason I said FADE. And capitalized FADE.

  • BloodofPatriots

Religion is the combination of faith and politics. As such, religion was a threat to atheist leaders like Stalin and Mao because they couldn’t have any authority higher than the State.

Think about that. Without faith, there really is no higher power than the state in every “secular” country in the west.

The 3,000 that died on 9/11 are insignificant when compared to the tens of millions murdered by atheist leaders in the 20th century.

  • BloodofPatriots

Do you walk around singing John Lenin’s song “Imagine”? People are selfish by nature, it’s what evolution programmed into all animals.

You know why all those hippy communes failed? Because sooner or later someone had to do the dishes and nobody wanted to.

You think too highly of the human race. We’re not that evolved yet. Maybe after a few more steps in evolution, but certainly not today.

  • BloodofPatriots

Zionists committed terrorism to found the state of Israel. See the Haganah, Irgun and “Stern Gang”. Look up the King David Hotel Bombing and the Deir Yassin Massacre. Jewish Zionists murdered British police, soldiers and muslim civilians.

If we condemn muslim terrorists today, and I do, then we must also condemn jewish terrorists of the first half of the 20th century.

Ironically speaking, most of the scientific progress is from Harvard. In America atleast.

  • shenyain

And you’re clearly misconstruding me here, you think I’m some Atheist fanatic. I’m not even atheist. I hate that word. I’m not religious either. Apparently, in today’s society we are obsessed with labels. So, I’m me. As for my “Anti-religious bigotry” I never said, I’m anti-religious, and I hate religion. What I preach is that it has done more harm then good, and frankly, it needs to fade away. FADE. Not forced out by a state, or a dictator by killing millions. You think I want forceful atheism

  • shenyain

It’d be the same thing that the Church has done. If that were the case. I’m not talking about state athetism. I’m talking about general and mass understanding, and acceptance. Acceptance that religion being used to control people is a ridiculous idea and people should do whatever they want under the law. Understanding also, that religion cannot disrupt scientific progress, whatever the price may be.

  • shenyain

Without the fear of god, or punishment in hell. Or the liberty to be the way one wants to be without the fear and pressure from family to not do it.

As for Stalin, Pol Pot Mao, etc. Each an every single one of those leaders killed and murdered why? Because people stood in their way for political purposes. Not religious. And for Harvard and Yale; I’m talking materialistic possessiveness. I say 3000 people’s lives are more important then a city full of buildings WITHOUT people in it.

  • shenyain

Yes, but what inspired the man to drive in the first place? The car. Should we ban cars? No. Why not? Because people need it for transportation. Religion; if gone, will probably turn fanatics into hopeless and perhaps even suicidal. Yes, it would give us a sense of despair and nothingness at first, however, when the people start doing good deeds not because of god, but to better themselves and society as a whole. To provide education without opression about the obvious, to be good people

  • keicher09

Yes, that’s why the Zionists were able to came from all different regions of the world and united to form Israel.

  • BloodofPatriots

It’s not even an ethnicity. The definition of ethnicity is shared belief between people that they share a common heritage.

Judaism is just as fractured as other faiths. There are jews of every race and culture and they don’t all respect each other. Some jews believe that converted jews are not real jews, others believe that only people born from jewish mothers are really jews.

It’s no more an ethnicity that atheism.

  • keicher09

Hey! I’m trying to help you here!

The Nazi’s may have considered Judaism a race, but in reality it’s only an ethnicity.

  • IamAsi94

but i think the fact that theyre communists is what set them up for fail not their lack of religion-it doesnt really matter if your religous or not when it comes to being in power right?-you could use every president if not most to prove thats true

  • BloodofPatriots

The Nazis considered Judaism a “race”, not just a religion or ethnicity. Don’t you people ever read history?

  • BloodofPatriots

No, the Nazis weren’t atheist. But communists were: Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Ho Chi Minh.
